# Send a campaign

Campaigns help you bring customers back with targeted messages.

## How a campaign reaches customers

A campaign goes to the loyalty card, not to the inbox. FaveCard updates the card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and sends a notification to that card. Campaigns are not emails, and they are not SMS.

## Steps

1. Open the dashboard.
2. Go to Engage → Campaigns.
3. Choose a campaign template or create a custom campaign.
4. Select the card and customer audience.
5. Write the message customers should receive, and under **Active until** choose how long it stays on the card.
6. Preview the campaign.
7. Choose **Send now**. Campaigns go out right away; you can't schedule one for later.

## Before sending

Make sure the message is clear, short, and includes a reason to visit soon.
