Getting Started

What is FaveCard?

FaveCard is a digital loyalty card platform for local businesses. You create a stamp card in minutes, customers add it to their Apple or Google Wallet, and staff scan a QR code to award stamps. When customers collect enough stamps, they earn a reward. No app download needed for your customers.

How do I create a loyalty card?

Sign up at favecard.co (free, 2 minutes), then use the card creator to pick your colours, stamp icon, reward, and number of stamps. You get a unique QR code to display at your counter. Your card is ready to share immediately.

How long does setup take?

About 5 minutes. You choose your card design (colours, stamp icon, reward text) and you're done. No technical knowledge required, no integrations to configure, no hardware to install.

Do I need any special equipment?

No. All you need is a smartphone (yours or your staff's) to scan customers' wallet passes and award stamps. No terminal, no tablet, no special hardware. Just download the free FaveCard staff app.

Can I try it before committing?

Yes. Every new account gets a 30-day Pro trial with all features included, no credit card required. After the trial, you choose: stay on Pro or switch to the Free tier. Either way, your loyalty card keeps working.

Is FaveCard available in my country?

Yes. FaveCard works anywhere Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are supported, which covers most countries worldwide. The app is available in English, Polish, Spanish, and Portuguese. Pro pricing is adjusted by region (US $19/mo, EU €12/mo, PL 49 zł/mo, and lower tiers for other regions).

Digital Stamp Cards

How do digital stamp cards work?

Your customer scans a QR code (displayed at your counter or shared via link) to add the card to their Apple or Google Wallet. Each time they visit, your staff scans their wallet pass to add a stamp. After collecting the required number of stamps, the customer earns their reward. Learn more in our digital punch card guide.

How many stamps should I set before a reward?

You choose any number. Most businesses set between 6 and 10 stamps. Coffee shops often use 8 (buy 8, get 1 free). Salons may use 5 or 6 for higher-value services. Check our punch card ideas for inspiration by industry.

Can I change the reward after creating a card?

Yes. You can update the reward text, stamp count, and card design at any time from your dashboard. Changes apply to new stamps going forward. Customers who already started collecting keep their progress.

Can I have multiple loyalty cards?

Yes. You can create as many loyalty cards as you like. This lets you run different promotions in parallel (e.g. a coffee card and a pastry card) and see which performs best.

What happens when a customer earns a reward?

When a customer collects all required stamps, their card shows the reward is ready to claim. Your staff redeems it with one tap in the app. The card then resets automatically so the customer can start collecting stamps again.

Can I customise the stamp icon and colours?

Yes. The card creator lets you choose colours, stamp icons, your logo (Pro), and a banner image (Pro). You can match your brand identity so the card feels like yours, not a generic template.

Apple & Google Wallet

Do my customers need to download an app?

No. That's the whole point. The loyalty card lives in Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Wallet (Android), which are already on their phone. Customers add your card with one tap. No app store, no login, no registration. Read our comparison of wallet passes vs loyalty apps.

How do customers add the card to their phone?

Two ways: (1) scan the QR code you display at your counter, or (2) tap a link you share via social media, WhatsApp, or your website. One tap and the card is in their wallet, ready to collect stamps.

Does it work on Android?

Yes. FaveCard creates passes for both Apple Wallet (iPhone) and Google Wallet (Android). Your customers don't need to choose — the system detects their phone and serves the right pass automatically.

Does it work on older phones?

Yes. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet have been standard on smartphones for years. Virtually any smartphone in use today supports wallet passes.

What do customers see on their lock screen?

When you send a Customer Message (Pro feature), it appears as a notification on their lock screen, similar to a text message. They can also see their stamp count on the card itself without unlocking their phone.

Can the card be shared or duplicated?

Each wallet pass is unique to the customer. While they can share the QR signup link (which is great for word-of-mouth), each person gets their own individual card with their own stamp count.

Customer Messages — Pro

What are Customer Messages?

Customer Messages let you send a message straight to your customers' phones through the loyalty card they already have in their wallet. The message appears on their lock screen, like a text. No app download, no phone numbers needed. It's included with the Pro plan.

Do I need my customers' phone numbers?

No. Messages are delivered through the wallet pass itself, not via SMS. You don't need phone numbers, email addresses, or any contact details. If a customer has your loyalty card in their wallet, you can reach them.

How many messages can I send?

Pro includes 4 campaigns per month. Each campaign reaches all customers you select (all card holders, regulars, inactive, or specific people). If you have 200 card holders, one campaign reaches all 200.

What kinds of messages work best?

Reward-focused messages get the best response: "Double stamps this weekend!", "You're 2 away from a free coffee!", "Slow Tuesday? Bonus stamp today." Keep it short, personal, and valuable. See our guide to reaching customers between visits.

How is this different from SMS or email?

Three key differences: (1) no contact details needed — it works through the wallet card; (2) no per-message cost — it's included in Pro at a flat rate; (3) messages appear on the lock screen, so visibility is much higher than email (~20% open rate). It doesn't feel like marketing spam; it feels like a message from a favourite shop.

Pricing & Plans

Is FaveCard really free?

Yes. The Free tier costs $0 forever — unlimited customers, unlimited employees, Apple & Google Wallet card. Every new account starts with a 30-day Pro trial so you can experience all features. After that, stay on Pro or switch to Free. No credit card required. See pricing details.

What's included in the Free plan?

The Free tier includes: 1 digital stamp card, Apple & Google Wallet pass, QR scanning at counter, unlimited customers, unlimited employees, and basic analytics.

What does Pro add?

Pro adds: your logo on the card, custom banner image, custom stamp icons, full customer email list (not masked), email export (CSV), and Customer Messages (send to customers' phones through their wallet card). Compare plans.

How does the 30-day Pro trial work?

When you create an account, all Pro features are unlocked for 30 days, no credit card needed. You can use custom branding, Customer Messages, full analytics, everything. After 30 days, choose to subscribe to Pro or switch to Free. Your customers' stamps and rewards are always preserved. Read why we added the trial.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Pro is a monthly subscription with no contract. Cancel with one click in your dashboard, no penalties. Your card continues working on the Free tier, and all customer data (stamps, rewards) is preserved.

How much does Pro cost?

Pro pricing is adjusted by region: US $19/month, EU €12/month, Poland 49 zł/month, Tier 2 countries $12/month, Tier 3 countries $6/month. All prices are net. See full pricing.

For Your Customers

How do customers get my loyalty card?

Display a QR code at your counter (print it or show on a screen). Customers scan it with their phone camera, tap "Add to Wallet", and the card appears in their Apple or Google Wallet. You can also share a link via social media, WhatsApp, or your website.

Where do customers find their card?

In their phone's Wallet app — the same place they keep bank cards, boarding passes, and event tickets. On iPhone, it's Apple Wallet. On Android, it's Google Wallet. They can access it from the lock screen or home screen.

How do customers check their stamp count?

They open the loyalty card in their Wallet app. The card shows how many stamps they've collected and how many they need for the reward. It updates automatically after each visit.

What if a customer loses their phone?

Their stamp data is stored in FaveCard's system, not just on the phone. If they get a new phone and re-add the card (by scanning your QR code again), their stamps are restored.

Can customers use it without a smartphone?

FaveCard requires a smartphone with Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. For the small number of customers without a smartphone, you could offer a simple paper alternative alongside the digital card. But in practice, the vast majority of customers carry a smartphone.

Industries & Use Cases

Is FaveCard good for coffee shops?

Yes. Coffee shops are one of our most popular use cases. A typical setup: 8 stamps = 1 free coffee. With Customer Messages, you can send "Double stamps before noon!" to fill quiet mornings. See our coffee shop loyalty guide.

Does it work for barbershops and salons?

Absolutely. Barbershops typically set 5–6 stamps for a free haircut (matching the 2–4 week visit cycle). Salons may use longer cycles for higher-value services. See our guides for barbershops and salons.

Can restaurants use it?

Yes. Restaurants use FaveCard for repeat dining rewards (e.g. 10 meals = 1 free), lunch specials, or even per-dish cards. See our restaurant loyalty guide.

What about nail salons and spas?

FaveCard works well for nail salons and spas. Common setup: 6 stamps = free manicure or a discount on a premium service. Read our nail salon loyalty programme guide.

Can I use it for any type of business?

Yes. Any business where customers return for repeat purchases or services can use FaveCard: bakeries, juice bars, car washes, pet groomers, fitness studios, tattoo studios, dry cleaners, ice cream shops, and more. If you reward returning customers, FaveCard works for you.

Comparisons

How is FaveCard different from paper punch cards?

Paper cards get lost or forgotten (nearly 40% of customers abandon paper programmes because they misplace the card), can be forged, and give you zero data. Digital cards live in the customer's phone wallet, can't be lost, update automatically, and give you real-time analytics on visits and rewards. Plus, no printing costs. Full comparison here.

FaveCard vs Stamp Me — what's different?

Stamp Me charges from $49/month with no free plan. FaveCard has a Free tier ($0, no time limit) and every new account starts with 30 days of Pro — no credit card needed. Both use wallet passes, but FaveCard includes Customer Messages in Pro (Stamp Me charges extra for push notifications). See full comparison.

FaveCard vs Square Loyalty — which is better for small businesses?

Square Loyalty starts at $45/month and requires Square's POS system. FaveCard is standalone (no POS needed), starts free, and uses wallet passes instead of requiring an app download. If you already use Square POS, their loyalty add-on integrates directly. If not, FaveCard is simpler and cheaper. More on small business loyalty.

Why not just use a loyalty app?

Loyalty apps require customers to download something, and most won't — only 6% of app users are still active after 30 days. Wallet passes skip this entirely. One tap and the card is on their phone, alongside their bank cards. No download, no login. Wallet passes vs loyalty apps comparison.

What makes FaveCard unique?

Three things: (1) a Free plan ($0, no time limit) that most competitors don't offer; (2) Customer Messages through the wallet card, no phone numbers needed; (3) designed specifically for independent local businesses, not enterprise chains. We keep it simple on purpose.

Technical & Setup

How does QR scanning work?

You display a QR code at your counter (printed or on screen). When a new customer scans it, they get the option to add your loyalty card to their wallet. When a returning customer visits, your staff opens the FaveCard app, scans the pass on the customer's phone, and a stamp is added automatically.

Do I need internet to scan stamps?

Yes, a basic internet connection is needed to sync stamps. Mobile data (4G/5G) or Wi-Fi both work fine. The scan itself takes about 1 second.

Can I have multiple staff members scanning?

Yes. Add unlimited employees to your account (free on all plans). Each staff member downloads the FaveCard app and logs in. They can all scan stamps independently.

Can I use FaveCard at multiple locations?

Yes. Your loyalty card works across all your locations. Each location's staff uses the same FaveCard app, and customers collect stamps wherever they visit.

How do I display the QR code at my counter?

Download the QR code from your dashboard and print it (A5 or A6 size works well). Place it on the counter, by the till, or on a table tent. Some businesses also display it on a tablet or screen.

What customer data does FaveCard collect?
