Google reviews automation

How to ask loyal customers for Google reviews, and which plan includes it.

Updated November 2, 2026

The Google reviews automation asks your most loyal customers for a Google review right after they redeem a reward.

Google review requests are part of the Business plan. They are also included in the free trial, but not in Pro.

How it works

When a customer redeems a reward, FaveCard automatically creates a Google review request for them. To avoid over-asking, each customer is asked at most once every few months.

How customers see the request

The request reaches customers in two ways, and neither is a push notification:

  • As a banner on their digital card, shown the next time they open their card link in a browser.
  • As a follow-up email a few hours later, sent only to customers who agreed to receive emails.

A customer who keeps the card only in Apple or Google Wallet, does not reopen the card link, and has not opted into emails may not see the request. It is normal to collect fewer reviews than rewards redeemed.

Set it up

  1. Open Engage → Google reviews.
  2. Under Find your business on Google, search for your business. If your Google listing is already connected, choose Use this listing.
  3. Check that it is your business and choose Yes, this is it.

Requests start right away, and the status shows Active. To stop them for a while, choose Pause; Resume starts them again. The same page shows how many requests went out and how many customers opened your Google review page.

Tip

Reviews come from happy, loyal customers, so the automation only runs after a reward is redeemed, not on every visit. For the best results, pair it with a quick in-person ask when you hand out the reward.
