Retire a card

How to retire a loyalty card and why it cannot be reactivated.

Updated October 26, 2026

Retire a card when you no longer want new customers to join that loyalty program.

Retiring can’t be undone. Once confirmed, the card cannot be made active again, even if it was retired by mistake. Support cannot undo it.

Can I reactivate a card I retired by mistake?

No. To replace the retired card, create a new loyalty card. If you already have another active card, you can use that one instead. Share the active card with new customers. Creating or using another card does not reactivate the old one.

Before confirming, read the warning that retiring can’t be undone. FaveCard asks you to confirm with the red Retire card button. Choose Keep it if you want the card to remain active.

Steps

  1. Open the dashboard.
  2. Go to Cards → Manage cards.
  3. Open the card you want to retire.
  4. Find the Retire card section.
  5. Select Retire card and confirm.

What happens after you retire a card

A retired card stops accepting new customers. Existing customers can still keep the old card in their wallet and complete their current stamp collection cycle.

Use this when you create a new version of a loyalty card with different stamp or reward rules. Share the new card with new customers, while existing customers keep using the old version until they finish the reward promise they already started.

Card limits

If your plan limits the number of active cards, retiring an older card may let you create a new one.
