Edit a card

What you can change on an existing card, what is fixed when the card is created, and how to change the initial stamps new customers receive.

Updated October 26, 2026

You can edit a card from Manage cards.

Steps

  1. Open the FaveCard dashboard.
  2. Go to Cards → Manage cards.
  3. Click the card you want to edit.
  4. Change what you need. Each section has its own save button:
    • Card name: click Save name.
    • Stamp messages: the text customers see on the card. Click Save changes. See Change the messages on your card.
    • Card appearance: stamp style, banner background and banner overlay. Click Save changes. Banner images and gradients need Pro, Business or the free trial.
    • Card settings → Initial stamps: click Save settings.
    • Signup form fields and Welcome email.

Your logo is set for your whole business in Settings, not on the card. See Update card logo and appearance.

Why do new customers receive multiple stamps instead of one?

Check the initial stamps setting. It controls the free welcome stamps a new customer receives when signing up and installing the card. You can change it on the existing card in the web dashboard.

  1. Open the FaveCard dashboard, go to Manage cards, and select the card.
  2. In Card settings → Initial stamps, choose 1 for one starting stamp or 0 (none) for none. You can choose up to 3, always below the first reward.
  3. Click Save settings.

The change only affects new installations after saving. Already-issued cards keep their stamps and history. Initial stamps must be below the first reward position. If a newly issued card still starts with extra stamps after saving 1, contact support with the card name or link.

What can’t be changed on an existing card

Some settings are fixed when you create a card. They stay locked for as long as the card is active, even before any customer has joined:

  • the number of stamps
  • each reward and the stamp it is on
  • the card colours and the stamp icon

FaveCard locks these settings because cardholders join under a specific promise. If the number of stamps or reward changed while they were collecting, the loyalty program would become confusing or unfair: a customer might suddenly need more stamps than expected, receive a different reward, or see rules that no longer match what your team told them in-store.

What to do if you want to change the rules

Create a new card with the new stamp and reward rules.

  1. Create a new card with the updated reward structure.
  2. Set the new card as the card you share with new customers.
  3. Replace old QR codes and links with the new card link.
  4. Retire the old card if you do not want new customers to join it.
  5. Let existing customers keep using the old card until they finish their current stamp cycle.

When customers see changes

Saving doesn’t update cards on customers’ phones right away. Cards in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet show a new card name, messages or appearance after the customer’s next stamp or redeemed reward. A card opened in a browser shows the changes the next time it is opened.

If you are not sure

Edit the existing card to change its name, messages, banner, or initial stamps for new customers. Create a new card to change the number of stamps, the rewards, or the card colours.
